We have a brand new activity on the island, offered by Sea Trek. Now anyone can take the plunge and explore the beauty of the underwater world with record ease. After a 5 minute briefing, participants don helmets and descend a ladder to an approximate 20 foot depth. There you will be guided through a scenic area of beautiful reef by highly experienced guides. They keep a watchful eye on you as you walk along a designated area and take in all the underwater scenery along the way.

If you can walk and breathe, you can do this!

Because it's so easy and the depths are relatively shallow, even children over 7 years old and people who are not able swim can now experience the beauty of the underwater world. This is also perfect for anyone with limited time, where an introductory SCUBA dive is not possible. There are virtually no encumbrances as with other devices, such as SNUBA. You simply put on the hat and walk around. It really is that simple. Very Happy

Families can now dive together as certified divers can tag along with their children or parents using conventional SCUBA gear.

The vast beauty, thrills and excitement of the underwater world is now available to a much broader field of participants. And nowhere better to give it a try than the bio-diverse clear calm waters of the Cayman Islands.

Duration: 1 to 1.5 Hours

Net Prices:

US $85.00 per person

US $75.00 per person for groups of 4 to 7

US $65.00 per person for groups of 8 or more

Payment: Cash or credit card (Not Amex)

?Minimum age is 8 years old.

?An observer may ride along at an additional charge of $10, snorkel gear provided.

Location: Watler Building, on the waterfront near the cruise passenger dock.

Participation Guidelines: Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

Extras: Videos available upon request.

This looks very interesting for non-divers.

Is the area explored in the Eden Rock area?

Do the helmet things weigh you down to make you submerge to the desired depth?

Does anyone remember the snorks? The hats remind me of the snork cartoon. My son used to have sheets with snorks on them, but I digress...

I hope we can hear from someone who does this soon.

Joe -This looks like something of interest and I'd be interested to know if the same medical restrictions apply or if they are less stringent for this activity than say SNUBA or SCUBA - it looks almost like a take off on a helmet version of a rebreather!
