Royal Palms is where the action is. If you are not here long enough to experience any of the many extraordinary and unique activities the Cayman Islands have to offer, take a 10 minute/$10 taxi ride to Royal Palms and spend a couple hours on the beach. They have every conceivable watersport activity, two bars, food, music, restrooms, showers, shade, multi-tier decks and anything else you could possible need for an exciting beach bash.

Be sure to budget at least an hour for shopping in town on your way back to the ship and print out the Activity Guide coupons for special discounts. Wink

The only thing that would be better about those photos would be if "we" (ie. hubby & girls) were in them! THANK YOU for the photos from our FAVORITE beach bar! Ahhhhh...that is the life!!!

Thanks Paul - I used a wide angle for the beach shots and a 300MM zoom for the raft. I'm not really happy about the background quality of the zoom shots but the clarity of the main subject is incredible, especially considering how far away I was. The wide angle seems to over-saturate the mid-contrast black levels. It's bad enough changing lenses without having to adjust all the camera settings too, every time I change a lense. :?

Is this a good place for small children? I am looking for a good place for a 2 and 4 year old? We thought about Rum Point, but we are not up for the long drive. What do you all think please let me know. This is my first post here. It seems like a great place for info. Thanks for your time. Take Care!

Hello MamaMicki,

Welcome to the forum!

Absolutely, this is a great place for small children, mostly because of the easy, gentle and gradual entry into the water. Every time I walk through that area, there are small children and parents building sand castles and watching the waves slowly come in and out of their "moats" around their castles.

It's just a perfect spot. Nice big, clean bathrooms also, and plenty of stuff to buy to eat and drink.

Just don't forget sunscreen!

Hello all,

We are on a fixed budget and we have 2 small children. I am looking for a nice beach that is conveniet to get to . My dream would be a resort that was all-inclusive and transportation was included all for $25 per person. A girl can dream. Anyway, if anyone knows of a really good deal or a really cool beach for kids please let me know We are coming in on the miracle on January 9,2006. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time. Take Care!!

Hi! Royal Palm looks great...I just have a few questions. Is there an entry fee? How much is chair rental? Is there a fee to use the water trampoline? How deep is the water on the out to the trampoline...we were at Paradise Beach in Cozumel last year and the water was really deep out to the trampoline which made it hard to get to for my kids.

Thanks!

There is no entry fee to Royal Palms and no charge to use the chairs. If you want an umbrella that cost $10 US. We found out the hard way that they take your umbrella away after most of the cruise ship people leave. We rented ours at 1:00 and at 3:00 we had to give it back. I'm not sure how deep the water is at the trampoline because we didn't use it, but it does get deep pretty fast. Maybe someone else can help you with that question. We were at Paradise Beach in Cozumel last year too. We saw so much destrction from the hurricane on the ride out there, but the beach was nice.

Bonnie

Welcome to the forum, marymonroe111 Smile ,

Most of the crowds at the Royal Palms beach come from the cruise ships. In order to tell how many cruise ships are in Cayman on any particular day, go to this really cool website and put in the dates you are wondering about
