I am wondering if any members have taken the Cuba Vacations trip to Havana and/or feel comfortable talking about it? We understand the legal issues with US citizens traveling there but thought there might be some UK citizens or Caymanians who have been.

My daughter who is a British passport holder and her husband who holds a South African passport go to Cuba frequently, in fact they eloped there! My husband has also gone under his British passport for field hockey trips. All three of them love it and rave about it and I have to say that the photos they have brought back are pretty darned nice. My daughter usually stays at a Breezes and my hubby has stayed at various places in Havannah. Cuba Vacations arranges getaways for Cayman visitors.

To be honest with you, I am toying with sneaking over there before Cuba eventually opens up to the US so I can take a peak at it before the influx of tourists from up north.

I'll chime in here and state that this is what hubby and I will be doing along with girl-child and her husband and some other people. We've decided that it will be the best way to go.

Is it possible to get to Cuba for a day trip from the Cayman Islands?

jkbrooke,

Yes...but not if you are a US citizen. nono

If you are not a US citizen, despite your Seatle, WA signature, then use the Search function directly below the Royal Palms' Webcam in the upper left corner of the screen to find some non US citizen-members' posts about trips from GC to Cuba. However, a one day trip may be too short, given the flight schedules. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you very much! Yes, it's ok for Canadians. I have many friends that have been but never been myself. I think you are right on the one day thing.
