We will be in GC during March Break. When we were in LC over Christmas we had read in a magazine about a place on GC called Dirty Reid's. Our son's name is Reid and ever since he heard about that, he really wanted to see if it existed and, of course, to buy a t-shirt if they are available.

Does anyone have any information. ?

"Durty Reid's Palace...a Beanery" is in a small strip mall along the main road towards George Town called Red Bay Plaza. It's on the left, just before Hurley's supermarket, and proudly claims to offer "warm beer, lousy food and surly help". Casual "sports bar" and lots of finger food, open for lunch and dinner. A few daily specials posted on a board, good chicken wings, and hilarious meal descriptions in menu. Several large-screen TVs, a bar, and tables split between two dining rooms. A good spot for people in Bodden Town, as Red Bay Plaza saves driving as far as George Town when just a drink or simple and informal meal will do. Service is fairly quick and usually friendly, and the prices are right.

Thank you Grateful Diver....

I see you will be GC when we will be there (however we will be one of the c-word people that day). We are hoping to pop over to Eden Rock for some snorkelling and then find a quite place on the beach to have a nice lunch.

We go to Dirty Ried's every time we are there but last year when we stopped in the jerk pork was really bad. I think the problem is that Milton, the cook, was rolled-over back to Jamaica, thanks to the government?s new rules. We will probably give it one more try this July, hopefully the food has improved.

The restaurant (actually the whole Red Bay Plaza) is slated to be torn down to make way for road improvements. Not sure of the timing.

Durty Reid (really Reid Dennis) had not made any final decisions about relocating when we last heard from him.

It was handy for those of us on "that side" and not wanting to drive ALL the way into Georgetown. So sad to see so many local places disappearing. Maybe the'll put in a wonderful "big mac" Just what the island needs. that and gambling. So many places I knew for years gone. just not the same, not that things should stagnate but gosh does everything local and quaint have to die?

Hi Sue, I read that Durty took on the place at Pedros but that seems like an odd combination to me. Is he running a tourist place now? I thought Durty Reids was a local hangout and now he has a place at a historical monument in a somewhat residential area?? Its great, just suprizes me. What am I missing here?

Does anybody know if Durty Reid's is still open. I am hearing rumors that he may have closed or moved somewhere from his old location. Heading to Cayman in a couple of days and this is always one stop on my must do list.
