I cannot get a straight answer anywhere so am hoping someone can help me out here.

My passport just expired on my bday(I did not check this as figured I had another year anyhow) I have a job with the Caymanian government to start immediately, have old passport, birth certificate and Photo id.

I am flying from vancouver to toronto then onto to Cayman with no US stops can I use the above mentioned id only?

If you have a job with the Caymanian Government wouldn't they be the ones who should tell you whether or not you will be allowed into the country??

..my understanding is that a BC and ID will suffice, but I'm just a guy on an internet travel message board so what do I know?

...It might be in your best interest to contact your employer ....

You will be fine:

"British and Canadian citizens, and citizens of British Dependent Territories do not require passports, but must present proof of citizenship (passport or birth certificate and current photo ID). Originals of documents must be presented; photocopies are not acceptable. A driver's license or voter's registration card alone is not sufficient. You must also have a return or ongoing airline ticket."

But you might want to apply for a new passport before you leave, as many folks working in Cayman travel to Miami to shop, etc.
