Nancy/Celine, et.al. You ARE supporting the local economy just by coming. The average visitor spends over $2,000 with airfare, hotel, food, etc. Bringing a few things along like liquor and some other items that are costly here is not going to hurt anyone. Customs will allow you to bring in "Gifts" for people, so if they ask about anything, just say it is a gift. It could be a gift for anyone, so long as they did not ask you to bring it.
