Finally leaving to Grand Cayman in a few days.
I have been around the forum quite a bit and I have
to say we are ready for all of it!
Any last minute advise as to where and what foods
I have to try?
Who has a GREAT drink and what is it?

If you've never had one, try a Cayman meat pattie--you can get them at the grocery store (favorites of my husband and son--I don't touch them)

Tortuga Rum Cakes (available at the grocery store) are a local favorite too.

Try Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert if you are at a restaurant that has it on the menu.

If you get over to the other side of the island, go to Kaibo and try their mahi mahi sandwich for lunch--french fries are great there too.

Have a great trip

Shelly :-)

You've gotta try Conch Fritters at least once.

Conch Fritters at the Macabuca bar at Turtle Reef make a great snack, especially after taking advantage of the great diving there at Sundivers. Wash them down with the local Caybrew or MUdslides.

But the best advice is to chill out, leave the hurry-up world at home, relax and embrace the tropical "Soon Come" philosophy.

And don't forget to write a trip report!

DS

Shelly....I can't believe you don't do meat patties....I really look forward to having them when I go to the Island. I sure miss the Wholesome Bakery. They had the best. I've never tried ones in the grocery store but I'm sure they are the same. Now I go to Island Taste to get them. The food there is pretty good!! 16 days and counting down!!

Another food that I have been introduced to in Cayman is Callalou (sp??) I don't want crab meat in it since I'm not a sea food eater!! It's like spinach!!
