Weather and sea conditions along all of Seven Mile Beach, which you can view on our Seven Mile Beach Map are exactly the same on any given day. The west side of Grand Cayman is the leeward side of the island so it generally has the most sheltered wave and sea conditions with waves typically averaging a foot or less. While weather and sea conditions can and do change frequently, there is almost always some area of Grand Cayman where you will find gentle weather conditions. For consistently calm water with absolutely no waves, try the lagoon side of Kaibo, which is perfect for learning to snorkel; then as you become more accustomed to the water, head over to the opposite side of Kaibo—less than 50 yards away, where the water is much more clear with many fascinating things to see. You can get a good feel for the area with our Northside Map
The beach at Grand Cayman Beach Suites — formerly the Hyatt would be considered wide by Grand Cayman standards, which is to say it is roughly 30 yards from where the sand starts to the mean water mark. All of Seven Mile Beach is quite popular and while I would not worry about anyone getting “run over”, if you are looking for complete tranquility, I again recommend the Kaibo area, which is far more remote and removed from any congestion, water toys, boats, jet skis and other typical beach obstacles.
We do not recommend the Westin and you will receive the best rates at comparable properties such as the Grand Cayman Beach Suites
and Marriott Beach Resort by using our feature.
Enjoy your vacation to the Cayman Islands and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask. |
