Local produce

Are there any farmers markets or local produce stands on the island? We didn't stumble across any last summer when we were there.

Hi fellow michigander,

I don't know of any. I'll have to do some more checking on it though, before I tell you there isn't.

I know there are fruit farmers and such on the island. In fact, I just read an article on a link from here about the farmers complaining about the parrots eating their profits.

I'll post an update if I can find anything!

When we have vacationed on less developed islands there seem to be fresh fruit stands everywhere. Then we were not able to find any on Grand Cayman.

Any help is appreciated.

There is a Farmers Market on Sat. mornings from 7am-1pm at the agricultural complex.

You should get there early. We got there late, and there wasn't too much left

There is also a market in Georgetown, near Eden Rock, that has several local people selling their items. Jams, jellies, souvenirs, and other items. They are there when cruise ships are in town. I know one lady that is at Georgetown, and she told us about the Farmer's Market mentioned earlier. Also in Georgetown, at the other end, are local fisherman selling fish, pretty much everyday.
