Hello Everyone - I've been reading for a few days - This is my first post.
My husband & I will be coming to GC for the first time May 2 - May 10. Will be staying on the EE at The Reef. Will be renting a car. Trying to find the best snorkel spots (we're experienced) cheapest (or best value) local places to eat ($40 CI pp everytime we eat is a bit much) and best places for live music and dancing. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

After research I have the following ?'s:
The discount code used on Andy's website does not work. The message says that discount is already in the quoted price. Is that true?
How much is the Brunch at Cracked Conch? Is the $21.95 listed for Portofino's Brunch in CI or US and is it only good for one person?
Soto's website does not work - it seems to be expired as of the end of Feb. Where do I get info on the trips to Stingray City?

Guess that's it for now. I'm sure I'll have more ?'s to come. Thanks in advance to everyone who responds.

Hello Sandbaby

We were in Grand Cayman in February and I posted a photo of our favorite snorkeling spot and trajectory around the Rum Point Area, in the trip report forum. This was our favorite but other spots we enjoyed were the Wreck of the Cali, Cheeseburger Reef and Smith's Cove(more for the sun than the snorkeling...). Check it out!

Welcome Sandbaby..... wave
Sorry I cannot help out with all your answers.....I did check the menu at Cracked Conch but did not see prices.....I don't think it's overly priced though and we loved their conch fritters.....mmmmmm.....so good.
Many great places to snorkel...just drive to them. I think one of our most favorites was Smith's Cove and since you are staying on the East End there is a lot of really good snorkeling there too.
Cemetary Beach is supposed to be very nice as well. Enjoy your time on the island.....we certainly did.
If I remember correctly most prices are quoted in Cayman dollars.

West Bay, Turtle Farm

West Bay, Cemetery Reef

George Town, Wreck of the Gamma

George Town, Cheese Burger Reef

George Town, Wreck of the Cali

George Town, Eden Rock/Devil's Grotto

South Sound, Blue Parrott

South Sound, Smith's Cove

Bodden Town, Beach Bay

Bodden Town, Cemetery

East End, Colliers

East End, Queen's Monument

North Side, Kaibo

Edited By : Joe Stebbins Wednesday, 04 March 2009 08:03:25 PM. Changed Rum Point to Kaibo, which offers much better value and better snorkeling

You seem to be asking questions that are better suited for someone staying on the west side -- surf around on this site (trip reports, etc.) and also do some other web searches. (I've found better car rental cars thru nat'l US chains). It's great to have a rental car -- esp. when on the EE.
The Sting Ray sandbar trip is defiinitely worth doing -- but you can use lots of different vendors (maybe even from the east side).
