Hey. My name is Jesica and my boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years now and finally decided we need a vacation together! We are pretty set on going to the Cayman Islands and planning on going in April. We have been looking up everything we can about activities to do and are getting very excited!! This will be my first time ever seeing the ocean and can't wait! What are some of the more popular activities for couples?

Welcome to the forum, JesicaJulin Smile ,

I'm sorry that no one has answered your question yet, but I think it's just so hard to sit and list all the things that might appeal to you......you say that you've been doing a lot of reading here, so I guess I would suggest that you keep doing that, and then when you have specific questions, please ask.

The quickest answer I can give you, without knowing your ages, or whether or not you like the water and waterports is "everything". Stingray City, is of course, a "must do" for anyone coming to the Cayman Islands, since you can't do that anywhere else.

You also might want to click on the link above marked "magazine" and page through the Activity Guide for lots of ideas for first time visitors.

Have fun with your research!

Char

Thanks, Shelly ThumbsUp ,

I was trying to remember if there was a list like that, but I didn't take enough time to look for it!

Thanks for doing that!

Hi Jesica,

I second the vote for stingray city. Also save a night for a nice romantic dinner at the Reef Grill. Reserve a table on the raised deck and watch the sunset.

Hmmm, any thoughts about a wedding in paradise Smile

Hi Jesica,

Every ocean will be a disappointment after this one! Don't be afraid to rent a car and see the island. Have you decided where you wish to stay yet? Are you looking to stay near activities and restaurants or are you looking to be more secluded?

Bob

Thank you for all the replies! We haven't quite decided where we are going to stay yet. We are still looking into places. We would like to be near activities yet a little secluded if that is possible! Smile Any suggestions on that?

We are pretty sure we want to try parasailing and Snuba. We would also really like to swim with dolphins!

JesicaJulin,

Since you're not really sure yet where you want to stay, I thought I'd point you towards this post of Joe's -

You'll find some good ideas and advice there, plus a link to our . If you contact any of those properties via that page, they will get back to you with a quote reflecting either a discount or some special perk for being a member here Wink.

Another thing I'd like to mention, if you are going down there after April 15th, you will be in the "low season" and prices will be much cheaper. You stand to save a lot of money, if you can do that!

By the way.......please think twice about swimming with the Dolphins. It's very, very controversial and not something that we are supporting here at all. Once you read this thread titled , you'll probably change your mind.

Char

Sting Ray City is a must do! Go with Soto's operation, they've always been great for us. I was going to try to add a video I took there last week but photobucket limits videos to 100 mb and mine are all slightly over that.

There is a little stingray city video at the top of the website today
or if it is replaced by another one, click at videos at the very top of the page and you will be able to find it.

Thank you for the reply about seeing dolphins. I never really thought about how they were captured, now knowing it makes me sick to my stomach!

As far as activities we have decided that we are going to ride in the semi-submarine and do the stingray city afternoon sail for sure!!

Does anybody know about how much parasailing costs on average per person or for two?
