I have emailed the grocery store, hardware store, and grocery warehouse store asking for sizes and pricing on charcoal grills. The resort we are staying at only has the park type grills and we have 16 in our group. Was looking for a weber kettle type charcoal grill around 21" diameter. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I saw a number of grills a year ago when we were looking for beach chairs. Can't remember which store, but you could try Kirk Tru Value home centre or Uncle Bill's Home improvement centre. I would call rather than email them. Some of the places in the past that I have sent emails to have never responded and some respond immediately, so if you haven't heard from them I would call. If you want to cut down on the cost of the call, get an international calling card, which you can do online, and the call will be very reasonable.

Ah cooking for 16.....that sounds like work! But a lot more reasonable than 16 going out to dinner.

Shelly :-)

I saw your price list for 08 and 09 for grocery purchases but have you been to the cost-u-less and do they have the frozen bags of tilapia, mahi mahi, and chicken breast? I have been checking out Foster's add each week and the pricing seems pretty reasonable.

I haven't been to cost u less as we now stay in Cayman Kai and I don't feel like it would be worth the trip for us---for 16 people very probably! But even at Fosters there are frozen bags of fish and I would guess chicken, but I have always bought the fresh chicken.

The last 2 years, we spent around $1100 at the grocery store. We were there for 30 days. This year, there were 3 of us for 2 weeks, 4 for 1 week and the rest of the time only 2 of us. We ate out for dinner about 10 times. We ate all breakfasts and all lunches except 1 or 2 at the condo. The year before we had 7 of us for 10 days, and we still spent the same amount--go figure?!

I did have a bit left over, but seeing as we are far from the grocery, I would rather not have to keep running out to pick up a thing or two.

Shelly :-)

Glad you got an answer. The cost of the bigger grill will be about the cost of 1 dinner out for 2.....so it will be a good purchase for your group of 16.

Shelly :-)
