Hello Everyone,

First let me say, I love this site. My daughter (13) and I will be coming to Cayman in a few days. My only worry is ... Will we be safe??

We are staying on the East End and I am renting a car. For the most part we will be enjoying the sun, beach and water around the resort.

Are there any areas that we need to avoid?

Thanks for any insights. Just trying to keep us safe. Our first Mommy - daughter trip together. Smile

-Regina

We have been there twice......rented a car and drove all over the island. Not once did we ever feel unsafe (well, with the exception of the big cuda I saw in the water). Jump Jump Jump
As with any place, including home, take your normal precautions. Don't leave anything of value in your car and leave your expensive jewelry at home....you don't need it. Wink Wink Wink

I agree. My timeshare is on the East End, and I rent a car and drive out there myself....I never feel anything but safe. Have a wonderful time!

I feel safe, but follow the same type of safety rules you would use at home. Lock your car doors--don't leave things in your car or on the beach unattended etc. Lock doors to your room. basic common sense stuff

Agree with the above thoughtful comments. Will be arriving on the island in just under two weeks for my third trip, and staying on the East End at the dive resort there. You will be fine if you follow the advice above. Don't worry! Have a great time and remember to keep your car on the left hand side of the road! Very Happy

THANKS everyone!!! I feel better. I hope you all enjoy your vacations. And now I will have to worry about is "keep to the left". Maybe my daughter and I will make a song up and sing it while driving.

I can't tell you how muchthis site has reasured me that Caymans was the Island to go to. I am getting over the big "D" and I need peace, sun, fun and yes a little rum. Smile

Thanks again everyone. I feel like I already have made a few friends.

Giggle....

I am sticking to the rum on the resort only or your right - I would forget to drive on the left.

I am finally getting excited. Started packing. To be able to unplug from the the world is going to be pure Heaven.

Thanks again for all of the kind words.
