ponygirl,

My understanding is that the gift store is closed and they are no longer producing bottled Stingray beer. I also seem to recall that the brewmaster Andreas Moerl may be cooking up a new beer... but I have no further details...

Any new news on Stingray Brewery opening again?

We've been going to Cayman for years but always seem to miss doing the tour...

geochief,

Sorry for the delay in answering your question. I believe the Stingray Brewery gift shop may still be closed, as it was during my trip there in 7/06. Not sure if the tours are still available. However, the good news is that there was plenty of bottled and tap Stingray beer available at our recommended resorts, restaurants and night clubs when I was there. clapping

If you have some updated information, feel free to share it with our members. ThumbsUp

I'll dredge up this topic. Definitely one of the benefits of having new members. Very Happy

Anyway, any information on whether or not Stingray re-opened? I've seen Caybrew mentioned a couple of times on the boards, but prefer dark --> amber myself. I'll drink a good lager, but prefer the darker side of the brewing spectrum.

Thanks for the info!

Welcome to the forum MadtownTim Smile ,

Glad you found us!

There is no more Stingray Beer, but it has been replaced by the new beer, Caybrew, and is located in the old Stingray Beer Brewery. I'm not a beer drinker, but others have told me that they really like Caybrew.

Here is a link to a topic telling more about it......

Tim,

I think you be pleasantly surprised by Caybrew. I was a greenie drinker myself, but have switched.

ScubaChar - That's what I thought might have happened. I've read about the German consultancy coming in and helping with the "updating of existing sites" and it made sense that they would have used Stingray for that. Just sorry that I missed Stingray while it lasted.

Northside and knees - Oh, trust me, I'll be trying it while we're down there drinking Especially since I love microbrews. rolllaugh

I like the Caybrew-
I was on the island in January and went to Caybrew- they only had a couple t-shirts, glasses, and playing cards in the gift shop
I also got some cute Caybrew boy shorts- they only had 2 pair
They have sampling, and the beer is good. They had a promo case that came with a free pilsner glass, which is currently holding flowers on my desk at work.
