Be very careful. Last May when we were there my father in law passed away in the states. Needless to say we had to make a ton of calls to get home and were making arrangements long distance. We used the land line from our room as well as our cell phone. The calls from the room were fairly reasonable, about $200. Our cell bill was over $800! This was with Cingular. This last trip we never even turned on the cell, just kept it in cases of emergency. I had two calls that went to my voice mail and they charged us $25. Cingular says that half of the charges were from the local provider for roaming charges. The thing is, we called Cingular before we left and they said they didn't even have service in Cayman......We are looking for a new cell phone company. |
