If one only has 2 days to shore dive, what 2-3 locations are best in regards to a newly certified diver who doesn't want to do a boat dive just yet and a seasoned diver (30 dives) but who has never done a shore dive? Would need to consider easy in/out access. Best if shallow between 10-30 feet and close to shore. Will be staying at the Reef but can travel at will. We hopefully plan on diving Stingray City towards end of trip.

This will the wife's first dive since getting certified in 2007. Wants to take it slow and doesn't want to hold up a boat dive. She had ear problems during cert and wants to stay shallow until she can learn to better equalize.

Will be there 10/3/09 to 10/10/09.

Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon ...... Welcome

I am a new diver as well and was very pleased with the shore dive at the turtle farm reef at the Cracked Conch up in West Bay ..... check out this topic to get all the information. It was a cool dive and now with them being a CAG advertiser you get a great deal ....

.... another good shore dive would be Eden Rock right in downtown George Town .... you can find more information about them here and get CAG discounts as well:

Those are a couple you might want to consider ..... Enjoy!!

Hi Gordon,

Mrs DS and I second the vote for the Turtle Reef operation. Ollen Miller's Sundivers has new equipment and an excellent dive site.

We did several dives there and enjoyed them all.

Add in the lunch at the Macabuca beach bar, and it is a great way to spend the day.

DS
