I want everyone on this message center to know how much i have learned about so many topic's. Stopping in Grand Cayman Nov 27th 7am-2pm. From what i'm reading thats not going to be long enough. Think we decided to do stingray snorkle and dive since that hopefully will be a shorter tour then we can shop or whatever all others care to do. I hope they do an early tour to stingray bay and will for sure use the one everyone recommends on this board. Any suggestions please let me know. Thanks again for all the great information shared here.

Hi ms_fireworks wave

Welcome to the forum!

Lots of people discover the Cayman Islands via cruiseship and feel the same way - that the time is too short in port. Next time many stay for a week or more. My longest trip so far is 10 days and I could have stayed longer and found many new places to snorkle and enjoy!

I hope you have a great trip.

I did a cruise in '95 palm one of the ports of call was Grand Cayman dance1 , we had time to see the Turtle Farm (Boatswains Beach now) and Hell Smile then spend a couple of hours on the Beach Palm rockbed martini at the Marriott Resort then a little souvenir shopping and then it was a mad dash to the tender....which was backed up as everyone else also wanted to spend the max time on the island....we all complained tantrum about how short the time allowed in Grand Cayman, while too much time in Jamaica. Crying or Very sad Sad

Thanks Raven and Garden. Still trying to figure my way around here. Yes our stop there is toooooo short and yes others are already complaining. But me, I'll go with the flow and know they are serving LOBSTER on board that night. I found a site that showed all ships that will be there that day and there are 2 carnival which one is ours. They are suppose to port at same time 7am. Go figure. Then Royal Caribbean will have one there at 10 am. So I am hoping that we can get right to dock area. Or do they all tender there because of water depth? Thanks again.

Last time I was there there is no cruise ship dock in the Cayman Islands Rolling Eyes and all ships calling at George Town have to anchor offshore and ferry their passengers ashore by shuttle boats to either of two dock terminals. So get up early and get in line a.s.a.p. to avoid the cattle show...your certain to see and be a part of it on the return to the ship. tantrum Passengers disembark in Georgetown, right in the center of the Grand Cayman shopping district. Georgetown is the capital of the Cayman Islands and offers some of the very best Duty free and souvenir shopping with a vast selection of items to choose from. ThumbsUp Many duty free stores are also now located within walking distance of the cruise terminal. dance1 As you walk around Georgetown taking in the sights and shops, please be sensitive towards the motorists as you cross the streets. (They drive on the left, Drive come from the other way that you are used to looking first, so be mindful). Many Cruise ship visitors who venture to look the wrong way before stepping out into the street. Shock Cabs care available but can be expensive, and the the exchange rate is $1.25US = $1.00 CI ask before getting in.
