Coral Gardening?

I was just watching a show about Fiji and how they are introducing Coral Gardening to revive their coral gardens. I thought right away about Grand Cayman. They were taking fingers of coral and planting them on a garden with others and attaching them someway to the ocean in an area which would provide plenty of sun and nutrients. They then showed the growth the gardens made in 6 months. The fingers were then transplanted back to the dead coral areas and soon would attach themselves and will bring their coral areas back to life. Has this ever been thought of in Grand Cayman? What a great idea!

It certainly is a great idea! Hey, Cayman Islands Marine Biology.... are you listening? Surely something can be done to help our coral. We are seeing quite a bit of dead coral here at the Brac. Now is the time to act!

The name of the show was Wild Pacific. I think it should be looked into since tourism/snorkeling and diving is a big part of Cayman's industries...............Joe, do you know some people to elevate this too on the islands? It might be worth looking into further.
