five years since Ivan

Just wanted to say that on this day of remembering Sept.11, 2001 here in the States, I'm also remembering Sept 12th, 2004 when Ivan hit Cayman..............the island we love..........and so glad that there are no ugly hurricane warning or threats and that the island is even better than it was before that ugly hurricane visited paradise.

I remember clearly the traumatic days following the storm. Trying to find out if our friends were OK and if my Dad's place was since standing. Luckily everything turned out OK. (Although Dad has since sold his place... Sad

) Ivan is basically what brought my to this forum in the first place.

There is an article in Caymannetnews today about Ivan. Every time I read these accounts I get tears in my eyes. It is amazing how the island has recovered. I remember being glued to the computer checking in on all the sources I could find and looking at all the devastating pictures. I was going to copy the article and include it in this post, but it said that you need permission to reprint--so guess you'll have to find it yourself :-(

Hope the Brac does as well as GC has done.
