Macabuca at the Cracked Conch is one of the most popular seaside bars in the Cayman Islands. They feature spectacular live music from Cayman's most popular bands and sometimes change musicians to keep their musical repertoire as fresh and exciting as the bar itself.

This fun and lively tiki bar—situated directly at Turtle Reef, is a huge hit among locals and visitors alike. Between their dynamic atmosphere, world class food and unique seaside location at one of the best shore dives in the world 1, Macabuca is one of the most popular bars on the island.

With a little planning, divers can even work in a twilight or night dive before and/or after dinner. During evening hours you can order directly from the Cracked Conch dinner menu and enjoy it at the bar; or, shower and change and dine at one of their many indoor and outdoor seating options.

Imagine a spectacular night dive, then up a few easy stairs to enjoy a quick shower while your food and beverages are being prepared; and by the time you finish cleaning up and change clothes, your dinner is ready, along with your favorite beverage and the band begins to play as you enjoy one of the finest meals of your life.

It really doesn't get any better than that!

Or does it...

Macabuca is not just an evening bar. Day people can enjoy the same wonderful experiences of diving and snorkeling one of the best sites on the island directly alongside the this amazing seaside bar.

From 11am, you can order your favorite beverage and choose from a large selection of food from the Cracked Conch menu.2

SUPER SAVER!

Use the large coupon in Activity Guide for their Dive, Dine and Drink special for one of the best deals on the island. Enjoy a spectacular dive at Turtle Reef, followed by an ice cold Caybrew or other beverage of your choosing and a surprising large entree, all for only $19.00!

If that is not the best deal on the island it has to be pretty darn close!

See our Go West tour in Activity Guide when you arrive for ideas about how to best utilize your time when touring the west side of the island to include a stop at the Cracked Conch and Macabuca.

Especially for visitors staying in Northside or East End, where timing is critical in ensuring the best use of vacation time and least time and money wasted sitting in traffic or making multiple trips around the island when 1 or 2 can usually suffice.

One plan is to pick on of your favorite activities in the George Town or Seven Mile Beach area, like a submarine tour with Atlantis or a trip to Mitzi's for your free3 piece of black coral at Mitzi's.

Visit the beautiful secluded beaches behind Boggy Sand Road, turn left and keep the ocean on your left until you come to West Bay dock, where you will find a serene white sand beach with clear turquoise blue water.

From there it's only a few miles to the Cracked Conch. You could enjoy your lunch first and then do your dive.4

Then see a few of the other sites in West Bay, come back to the Cracked Conch for a shower and then head over to Pappagallo for another of the best meals you will ever have in your entire life!

These are just a couple of examples and there are many more throughout our main website and forums, as well as in Activity Guide magazine when you arrive. By planning ahead and using a bit of creativity you can make the most of your vacation time and make your vacation dollars stretch much farther than the average visitor.

1Literally, as Turtle Reef is part of the greater Northwest Point system of reefs, which was recently voted the best dive site in the entire Caribbean by Skin Diver magazine.

2Visit our menu search page to view the entire Cracked Conch and Macabuca menus.

3Bring coupons for Activity Guide discounts.

4The folklore about eating and swimming are myths; your body requires nourishment to swim, snorkel and dive.

Hi Joe,

I couldn't agree with you more! There is so much to do up at Macabuca/Cracked Conch, both day and night!

In 2008, we actually went there for our last dinner on the island (love the casual outdoor atmosphere) and had the bonus pleasure of catching a Chuck and Barrie performance! That was our group at the first table on the left in this picture. Talk about a front row seat!

Fun times!

Char

Now you're talkin' Joe.

Mrs DS and I have done many dives at Turtle Reef and then enjoyed libations and lunch at the Macabuca bar. There's not much better than a great dive or two, followed by coconut encrusted shrimp and a cold caybrew on an outside patio bar with drop-dead views.

Ten weeks exactly and we're on the island. Man, I can't wait! Tell Macabuca to stock up on shrimp and caybrew...

Char, why aren't you up singing at the mic?

DS

Good to hear from you ralphy57. You'll be on the island before you know it.

Mrs DS and I can't recommend the diving and dining at Turtle Reef / Macabuca enough. What a great way to spend the morning / early afternoon.

We saw octupi, scorpion fish, rays, turtles (go figure, it is Turtle Reef after all) and all manner of other critters. Add the easy entry and exit and it 'don't get no better'!

And, we'll be looking for a trip report to get us through the next 9 1/2 weeks until we get there!

DS
