Is there a time in which restaurants and bars stop serving alcohol?

I think most bars close between 12-2am. Saturday nights they have to close at midnight because it's Sunday and no liquor sales are allowed on Sunday, except maybe in the resorts. Their government sets the hours but some of them can stay open later with permission, for special occasions. I remember a few years back though even on new years eve, they still all had to stop the liquor and dancing at midnight, it fell on a Saturday so the Sunday laws kicked in at midnight. It's not illegal there to drink on Sunday, just not to sell it. So you can always stock up on Saturday.
