I know what you're talking about on those cruise boards. In fact, I went on a cruise last Fall and we had a nice sized group of people who met each other on the Roll Call. We met for drinks and dinner a couple of times....several toured together at the different ports. It was really fun!
But, as jpep said, you can pretty much accomplish the same thing here if you look at the trip countdowns at the bottom of everyone's posts. What you want to do is go to "Memberlist" (just to the right of the Search button) and sort by "vacation start". Then you will see a place for you to insert the dates of your vacation and you will see a list of people who are also going on vacation on those dates.
Another thing you can do is to start a thread asking for people going the same week that you are, and post it in the Community Blog forum.
Lots of ways to find others!
