The latest incarnation of the Cracked Conch in Grand Cayman has emerged within a modern architecture design, while maintaining some traditions that Suzy Soto established in 1981. Current owner Bill Maynes made a considerable financial investment in modernizing the facility after hurricane Ivan in 2004 utilizing the most modern contemporary design features.
The floor is made of stamped concrete and wood and glass adorn doors and other areas throughout this expansive facility.
Their indoor bar features an elaborate light and water display set behind their collection of local and imported liquors. With posh stuffed booth seating, imbedded lighting and mural walls, the room encapsulates an effervescent blend of culture and comfort. With every libation from local beer Caybrew and rums from throughout the Caribbean; the finest wines and liquors from across the globe, the new bar at the Cracked Conch is well stocked, by any standard.
Soto’s Room – dedicated to founders Bob and Suzy, offers private seating for groups up to 30. Bob is famous for starting Cayman’s first dive company, while Suzy designed the Sir Turtle logo and pioneered the original Cracked Conch with her amazing local recipes, which now appear in her best selling cookbook.
Multi-tier decks provide ocean views, which can be configured into indoor and outdoor seating areas, depending on weather conditions and customer preferences. Downstairs dining offers direct ocean seating on their extended deck.
Menu items are diverse with seafood being their primary stock in trade. Specials include Cracked Conch, Conch Chowders, Paupiette of Snapper, Continental Turtle Soup and a variety of desserts.
Downstairs you can dine directly over the sea on their extended deck or their bar Macabuca.
