Both Day and Night tours are available. Seaworld Explorer is a state-of-the-art semi-submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel does not submerge. You descend into the hull of this cruising underwater observatory and sit in air-conditioned comfort five feet below the surface of the water. As you explore you will view an abundance of marine life through large, clear windows. Seaworld Explorer departs from the dock right by the cruise ship dock in downtown George Town. The first site you visit is a dramatic shipwreck, the Cali, a steel schooner built in 1900. This ship ran aground 100 yards off the coast of Grand Cayman in 1944. From here, your captain takes you to Cheeseburger Reef. Be sure to have your cameras ready when our diver enters the water and begins to feed the hundreds of multi-colored tropical fish right in front of your window. A marine expert will provide answers to your questions and informational narration on the amazing underwater world around you. Hear more tales of the high seas as the Seaworld Explorer takes you to see the wreck of the Balboa - a 375 foot freighter that sank in 1932 during one of the worst hurricanes in the island’s history. The ship was literally broken into pieces as she was bounced along the ocean floor by huge waves. Much of her cargo of wood was used to reconstruct the buildings you see in George Town today. After an incredible one hour tour, The Seaworld Explorer brings you back to the dock in the heart of George Town. This is the most comfortable and affordable vessel of its kind. Don’t miss this unique opportunity for adventure! NEW! Cayman Wetlands Kayak Safari Explore the tranquil beauty of Cayman’s ecologically sensitive coastal environments by kayak. A short, air-conditioned ride takes you to the Kayak staging area where you will meet your experienced guide. After a safety briefing and familiarization with the Kayaks in a shallow, protected area, you will set out on your expedition, exploring secluded shorelines, inlets, bird-nesting areas, sea grass, and mangrove communities. Along the way, your guide will point out scenes of interest and describe the importance and interdependence of these fragile ecosystems with the surrounding coral reefs. You will also have the opportunity of getting in the water for a refreshing swim and snorkel around a healthy coral head. Snorkel equipment is provided at no extra charge. After returning to shore, the home journey takes you through one of Cayman’s most attractive residential communities. Kaykers are on the water for approximately 2 hours and do not paddle the whole time. Stops are made as the guide points out areas of interest, and for in-water activities. The Kayaks are two-person models, and are very maneuverable and stable. New and experienced paddlers are welcome! Safety vests are provided. It is suggested you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cap. Restrooms available at start and end of tour (Atlantis Ticket Office). Food & Beverage: Water and snacks provided Tour Restrictions: Participants must be in good physical condition, and fair swimmers. Maximum combined weight is 400lbs per kayak*** Children eight years and over are welcome. Children under twelve years must each be accompanied by an adult. Tour Duration: 3 hours- check-in time is 20 minutes prior at Atlantis Ticket Office for payment. We will then shuttle the guests by bus to the South Sound dock where they will meet their guide and embark their kayak. Tour is conducted within the protected South Sound reef. Guests check-in and pay at the Atlantis Adventure Center located on the waterfront in George Town across from the Hard Rock Café- same as the Atlantis Submarine.
